USING INSIDER DISCOUNTS IS A PRIVILEGE
As a new member and friend of Insider Discounts, it is important that you recognize that you are, in a sense, acting as our ambassador to our clients and customers. By using the Insider Discounts program we trust you with our most prized possession, our reputation. We are endorsing you as a valued customer that our clients can trust. With great discounts comes great responsibility, please read these FAQs and follow the instructions and restrictions closely. Restrictions are in place for reasons that may not be obvious to you but they are essential to our program. We reserve the right to discontinue your privileges at any time. What is scrip?
"Scrip" is certificates issued by the Insider Discounts as proof of your purchase, and can be used just like a gift certificate. Scrip is issued for specific merchants and cannot be transferred between participating members. Scrip is issued in specified dollar amounts. Establishments will not make change for Scrip. Scrip cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts.

How much money can I save by using Insider Discounts?
Discounts vary from merchant to merchant, but are generally between 30% and 75%. This means that you can buy $100 worth of Scrip for generally under $60.

How are you able to pass on such large savings?
In our business, we sometimes buy large quantities of gift certificates; we manage media & promotional campaigns; and we "do deals" that allow us savings that we can pass on to you, our friends & family.

Why is this not available to the general public?
For many reasons, sometimes we have contracts that limits us from advertising discounts to the general public, we are limited in the quantity of a specific item; our goal is to make you the #1 priority, the people we care most about.

How will I receive the tickets, passes, scrip, or gift certificates?
There are generally two choices; you may pick up your order at our office or we will send your order DHL express for a $5 flat fee.

Are taxes and tips included?
As a general rule all taxes and tips are your responsibility and must be paid in cash to the establishment. Remember many restaurant servers, salon technicians and other “tipped” workers rely on gratuities for their income. Furthermore, we ask you to remember to tip on the full amount of the check, not the amount you paid for with your discount. We recommend between 18% - 20%.

Do you always have the items that you offer?
No, many items are limited and sell out quickly. If you know you want something, do not wait to order. If you do not find an item that you saw on previous visits to our site, please keep checking in. We are constantly adding new products and services and renegotiating with our existing clients. Our product lists can change on a daily basis so don’t miss out on the next great deal! A great way to keep updated on our latest merchants and offers is to elect to be on our email lists. You can select our email list by clicking on EDIT ACCOUNT INFO.

What is your return policy?
You may return any item for 60 from the date of your purchase with the exception of “live” tickets and passes (example Red Sox Tickets, Ski Tickets, Water Park Tickets)

What happens if a place I have a gift certificate for goes out of business or an event is canceled?
Refunds will be made only if a merchant does not honor the Scrip or Gift Certificate within 60 days of your purchase. If you bought it longer than 60 days ago we unfortunately can not help you. We recommend you use gift certificates within 60 days of purchase. If a event is canceled please call us and we will assist you. It is advisable to use Scrip and Gift Certificates as soon as possible to avoid complications. There are no exceptions.

Can I return tickets, ski passes, or other entertainment tickets?
ABSOLUTELY NO EXCHANGES OR REFUNDS ON TICKETS OF ANY KIND. Because of the time sensitivity of theatre, concert, circus or any other type of tickets, there are no exchanges or refunds of any kind unless the show or event is cancelled.

What happens if I have a problem using a gift certificate at an establishment?
This is very unusual and very unlikely to happen, in the rare case that you do have a problem, DO NOT argue with the establishment, DO NOT TAKE MATTERS INTO YOUR OWN HANDS. Using our discounts is a privilege that we grant to you. The relationships we build with our clients are very important to us. If you encounter any problems, please allow us to speak on your behalf with our retailers in regards to any discrepancies with our program.

What happens if I do not receive my scrip?
If for some reason you do not receive your Scrip, call 781-388-9200 between the hours of 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. Monday through Friday or email us at help@insiderdiscount.org

Can I cancel an order?
No. Orders cannot be cancelled once the checkout process has been completed. In order to insure rapid response to your requests, orders are processed, adjusted in our systems and mailed out immediately. This makes it impossible for us to cancel orders after check out. We regret any inconvenience that this may cause. If you would like to speak to a customer service representative please call 781-388-1015 between the hours of 10 A.M. and 4 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Are there large party restrictions?
Scrip & Gift Certificates are not valid for PARTIES OF SIX OR MORE. If you are planning a larger party and would like to use your discount, please contact the Insider Discounts office in advance and let them see if an arrangement can be made.

Can I buy gift certificates directly from the merchant?
YOU CAN ONLY PURCHASE SCRIP THROUGH THIS WEBSITE OR OUR OFFICE. In some situations a link to a website has been provided in order to allow consumers access to information provided by the advertiser (special offers, dates and times of events, directions to locations). You will not, however, be able to purchase Scrip through any other web site but this one. Also, you will not be able to purchase Scrip or Gift Certificates at their location. Discounts that are provided here are arranged at a corporate level. Servers, Hairstylists, Front desk Attendants or other Customer Service Agents will not be able to provide you with information about purchasing Scrip or Gift Certificates

What are my payment options?
We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express. If you would like to pay with personal check, money order or cash, you can mail or come to our offices in person at 926 Eastern Avenue, Malden, MA 02148

I forgot my password. How do I get it?
If you forget your password, start by clicking on “Forgot Your Password?” You will then be asked to enter the email address that you used to sign up. At that time your password will be emailed to the address on your account information.

Are credit card transactions safe?
Absolutely! In fact, it is statistically safer to use your credit card on the Internet than in a restaurant or department store. By using SSC encrypted servers and the leading security measures we assure you that your personal information is not only safe with us but will never be issued to other parties.

If I have a friend or family member that would like to receive these discounts how can I get them involved?
Send us a note or call us with anyone you would like to “sponsor” for access to Insider Discounts. This should be limited to friends and family of yours, remember Insider Discounts is not open to the general public.
